About the event

Hardly any other country is talked about and argued about so much in Germany: everyone has an opinion about Israel. Why is that so? Why is the Middle East conflict so important? And why is the debate so emotional – and often so toxic? In this book, Meron Mendel describes how the relationship to Israel and the Middle East conflict is negotiated in Germany: in politics and in the media, among leftists, among migrants and among Jews. Germany's relationship with Israel is facing major challenges: Meron Mendel shows how we can meet them with courage and openness. (Kiepenheuer & Witsch)

Prof. Dr. Meron Mendel(*1976) grew up in a kibbutz, studied education and Jewish history in Haifa and Munich, received his doctorate in Frankfurt and is now a professor of social work and head of the Anne Frank Educational Center.

The FORUM WOMEN'S CHURCH series takes place in cooperation with the Saxon State Chancellery.
