The rumour about the others

At first gance anti-Semitism, racism against Roma and Sinti and social chauvinism appear to be completely different ideologies. In the past, the devaluation and open hatred of Jews, Roma and Sinti, the poor and people stigmatised as deviant led to violent attacks, pogroms and persecution and extermination in the concentration camps of National Socialism.  Focussing on critical theory, the conference posed various questions. What can be deduced from the combined analysis of anti-Semitism, racism against Roma and Sinti and social chauvinism? How can this hatred with different faces and its inherent contempt be confronted in solidarity? What transformations and redefinitions are needed in work, activity and the economy? In its programme, the Autumn School explored these connecting lines and their consequences.  The event was a co-operation between RomaRespekt bei Weiterdenken - Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung Sachsen, HATiKVA e.V., audioscript.net and Goethe-Institut Dresden.  The autumn school was supported by the state programme "Weltoffenes Sachsen für Demokratie und Toleranz", the "Stiftung der Ostsächsischen Sparkasse Dresden" and 'Gibt's doch gar nicht...' - Sensibilisierung für antisemitische Einstellungen und Diskriminierung in der Gegenwart a model project of HATiKVA e.V. at "Demokratie leben!"
