About the event

The Peace Festival of the Children of Abraham is an annual interreligious festival in Dresden, which is organized by the Integration and Foreigners Commissioner of the state capital Dresden. The festival takes place in the New Town Hall in Dresden and is attended by Christians, Jews and Muslims from Dresden.

The aim of the peace festival is to promote peaceful coexistence between religions in Dresden. The festival shows that despite different beliefs there are similarities and that peaceful coexistence is possible.

The Peace Festival program is diverse and includes music, dance, theater and lectures. The focus is always on the similarities between the three religions. For example, the story of Abraham, who is considered the father of the three monotheistic religions, is told.

The Peace Festival of the Children of Abraham is an important event in Dresden. It shows that the city is a tolerant and open place where people of different religions can live together peacefully.

This year's peace festival will take place on July 21, 2023. The motto is “What connects us”. The program will be announced later.

Here are some examples of the contributions that take place as part of the Peace Festival of the Children of Abraham:

  • Music: Concerts by Christian, Jewish and Muslim artists
  • Dance: Performances by Christian, Jewish and Muslim dance groups
  • Theatre: Pieces from the three religions
  • Lectures: Discussions with representatives of the three religions about peaceful coexistence

The Children of Abraham Peace Festival is an event for everyone who is interested in interreligious dialogue and tolerance.
