Commemoration of the 86th anniversary of the Reichsprogromnacht
We all remained silent, and unfortunately, I too, like almost an entire nation [Hans Schneider, eyewitness, 19 years old] An event organized by Herz statt Herze e.V. (Heart instead of Heart). The only people who could have countered the Nazi propaganda at the time were the eyewitnesses on site. But they remained silent.

About the event
The commemoration event in the state capital of Dresden on November 9th is being organized this year by the association "Heart instead of Hatred," and everyone is invited to join us in commemorating the victims of Kristallnacht on this date in 1938. Even though our world is the present and our gaze is directed toward the future, we stand on the shoulders of our ancestors in all traditions. And that includes their suffering, which is our history.
The world is once again experiencing the loss of shared values that led to the dehumanization of millions of victims and perpetrators alike in the 1930s. But the very personal memories of loss and pain in our families also connect us to the victims. We will honor their memory with a prayer at the Old Leipzig Train Station, from which many Saxon Jews were transported to extermination camps after the pogrom. Afterwards, the…
