Dr. Herbert Lappe
Advisory Board

Born in London in 1946 to Jewish emigrants, the family moved to Dresden, East Germany, in 1949. In 1987, he served as a representative of the Jewish community at the trial of SS officer Henry Schmidt. He served for many years on the board of the Jewish community and the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation in Dresden, playing a key role in the construction of the New Synagogue in Dresden (2001). He served for several years as a representative of Saxony's Jewish communities on the advisory board of the Saxon Memorials Foundation. He gave lectures on Jewish history in schools, youth centers, Christian communities, and in Israel and the USA. He worked as an IT consultant.
